So recently I've started doing a lot of cosplay for cons and such, and naturally some parts of the outfits are things that one needs to make oneself. So I'm just curious if anyone has developed some tricks to make sewing go more smoothly. For instance, is there something out there with which one can make tactile lines on the fabric where a sighted person would just use a pencil or such?
thanks in advance
When I was in school, my sewing teacher used this stuf called High Marks to outline the patterns so we can cut our peaces out. This was something like puff paint. There is also this wax string that you can get almost any where called Sticky Wicky. The strings will stick to almost anything and can be reused. I hope this helps you out. P.S. you can use Elmer's glue to out line things too.
I don't know the answer to your question, because I'm not a sewer, but the NFB has a division called the Crafter's division. I would think if you signed up for their list and posted a question, you'd get your answer. I know there's plenty of blind ppl that sew out there.
